So What Exactly Is AttentionShifting?

Recently, I have had a lot of people ask me what does AttentionShifting mean and what exactly happens in the audio programs available through AttentionShifting.com?

The simplest way to explain this is,

“I help you change your focus from a specific problem to the ideal solution that you desire.”

But how?

Well, if you haven’t listened to it yet check out the “Intro to NLP” program that is available for immediate download just by entering www.attentionshifting.com. This personal development audio program (20 minute free mp3) will share with you the foundational elements that support your unique way of experiencing excellence in the areas of health, wealth and relationships. I believe it will bring many new realizations to your awareness and the audio program explains why visualization can be so powerful when effectively applied to coaching, personal development and, simply put, your excellence in the ways that you choose to use it.

NLP - often referred to as neuro-linguistic psychology or programming - is a powerful communication skillset derived from Richard Bandler’s and John Grinder’s studies of Fritz Perls, Virginia Satir and Milton Erickson. If you have the time, I recommend that you visit Wikipedia.com to learn more about their contributions to modern counseling, coaching, psychology and personal development.

So, what does NLP do?

Understanding the structure of neuro-linguistic psychology allows me more precision with the way that I communicate and gives me a better understanding of how you might possibly experience a situation.

Here’s an example that I think most of us have experienced at one time or another:

Let’s say you are aware that you spent too much on a credit card or you used too many minutes on a cell phone - and the bill has just arrived in the mail.

As soon as we see the letter - if we say something usually we use a simple way to describe the experience - “Oh… man “, “geez”, “doh!” - you fill in the blank.

I don’t know exactly what happens next for you, but perhaps you get mad or upset, feel a knot in your stomach, get a headache, feel overwhelmed or whatever else you might think of… I’m sure you can remember specifically what that’s like for you.

Now, on the other hand.

Have you ever waited for a package or a letter to come in the mail?

It was something that you really, really anticipated.

Everyday you’d check the mail - just a little disappointed it hadn’t arrived yet…

Then the day that it arrived, you immediately opened it. Full of anticipation and thinking of all the ways you were going to…

My point in this is - whether we are aware of it or not - we assign meaning to almost everything that happens in life.

Sometimes, we don’t choose the meaning that something ends up having…

You ever think about this - some people are excited to go workout and others would rather do anything but go to the gym.

Procrastination…

Sales…

Relationships…

If there is something that you believe is important for you to do or experience in life, but it’s not happening, then its likely that there is a certain little (or big) sticking point that needs to be transformed into what will empower you.

Be Amazing!

Your friend,

Michael J. Emery
